After experiencing the benefits of chiropractic care, some patients choose to continue to receive maintenance follow ups to ensure optimum health, however this is completely optional. Rest assured, no patient in our office receives one visit more than they need or want.

Most commonly there may be some initial temporary discomfort, soreness, or stiffness as we work with problem areas and your body goes through the healing process. Serious complications are exceedingly rare. Chiropractic adjustments are generally not painful. In certain types of adjustments, patients may feel a quick pressure or a popping sound as the joint is moved. In other types of adjustments, the patient may not experience any discomfort or popping sound. Some people may experience mild soreness or stiffness after the adjustment, similar to what one might feel after exercise, and this usually resolves quickly. I use the minimum amount of force while still striving for maximum results. In addition to traditional manual adjusting, we offer Thompson drop table equipment and Activator instrument adjusting for those who need or prefer a more gentle approach.

The length of an appointment can vary. First visits are typically longer, around 30-45 minutes, involving a detailed history, examination, and possibly initial treatment. Follow-up appointments are typically shorter, around 10-20 minutes, focusing on chiropractic adjustments and potentially other therapies. The specific duration always depends on an individual's needs. We pride ourselves on dedicating as much time as appropriate for each patient, while respecting your time and minimizing wait.

Chiropractors undergo extensive education, including a four year undergraduate bachelor's degree followed by a four year Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree. I attended Aurora University to complete an undergraduate degree B.S. in Health Sciences. I then completed a doctorate degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic.

The curriculum includes coursework in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, diagnosis, and chiropractic techniques. Chiropractors also complete clinical internships prior to receiving their diploma.

Our education does not stop there. I  also complete a minimum of 150 hours of continuing education credits per licensing period to stay up to date on the most current information and treatment options to better serve my patients.

Absolutely, pregnancy is one the most important times to receive chiropractic care. Pregnant women often benefit greatly from chiropractic care. Chiropractic treatment during pregnancy can help address musculoskeletal discomfort associated with the body's physical and hormonal changes.

I completed a 120 hour post graduate diplomate program in pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic care to better serve these populations. During this program I received training in techniques specific for pregnant patients. For example the Webster Technique, is a chiropractic protocol used during pregnancy to ensure optimum positioning of the baby during pregnancy and often results in shorter labor and delivery times, and reduces the likelihood of breech presentations and resulting C-sections.

To ensure the comfort of our pregnant patients, we have special equipment, tables and pillows for chiropractic treatment during pregnancy. This specialized equipment allows patients to comfortably lay face down up to full term.

No, chiropractic is not considered addictive in the traditional sense. However, once patients experience significant relief and improved overall well-being from treatments, it often leads them to continue care on a maintenance basis. It is more about the exceptional benefits experienced rather than a physical or psychological addiction.
